Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic 2017 - #VCPC10
Hi all,
Today's post is all about the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, which I attended this year for the first time. Plus, of course, the outfit :).
If you follow me on stories or have met me personally you know that champagne is my go-to cocktail. And if you were to come over to my house, you'd find a set of yellow Veuve Clicquot flutes, which I may just have brought these back with me from Ibiza 😉 true story.
I'm a firm believer that champagne isn't just for special occasions but instead to be enjoyed for all memories just like you would a glass of wine or beer.
So you could only imagine the excitement I had to attend the event for the first time – having just moved to NYC a mere 9 months ago!
Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Outfit
So what to wear to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic? The occasion would call for a chic day-time look. I immediately knew I wanted to wear a dress for the event but had to find the perfect one. While searching for the perfect dress, I came across this strapless tiered ruffled dress from Prose and Poetry and knew it was just right after I tried it on. It was chic and feminine and knew it would be a timeless piece to add to the wardrobe. As you know, I always try to picture at least three ways of wearing an outfit if I'm going to invest in it. And with that goal, let's take a look at how to style it.
Styling a Dress for The Polo Classic and Beyond
Casual?
Throw on a leather or denim jacket and pair with your favorite converse sneakers and you’re ready for a day of errands and brunch.
On vacation?
Grab a great pair of flat sandals, panama hat, and statement beach bag.
Baby/Bridal shower or Graduation party?
Style as I do here today.
The Accessories from Shopbop.
When deciding the right accessories for the look, I knew I’d find the right ones at Shopbop. At first, I was deciding whether to pair with nude or black accessories and ended up going for black to make more of an impact and have them pop. This worked well since the colors on the dress were quite subdued.
I first began browsing through the handbag section, and initially had a tough time because there were so many stunning finds – but when I came across this stunning Alice + Olivia structured insect bag. I knew it was the right choice for a garden party because of it’s design, basket weave print, oh and it’s perfect size. The bag fit my iphone 7plus, makeup, and wallet, and there was still space for other items.
After selecting the bag, I did an initial search for black sandals and found this black pair with decorated bows from Schutz. Talk about finding the perfect versatile black summer sandal!
For the earrings, I wanted to go for a pair of black earrings but wanted to also make a statement, these triple-tier dropped were the winners.
