How To: Beginner's Guide to Doing Your Hair

Hi all!

Talk about a busy month! July has been one of those months that leave little to no time to do much and in particular, no time to write blog posts. But fear not! More blog posts are coming!

Today we talk about heat - Summer heat that is and how to fight humidity and create the perfect hair style for beginners. It's true, I'm not a professional hair stylist. But I wanted to share with you some tips for creating a chic straight hair look, or a fun curly look. Believe it or not, I just learned a few months ago how to properly curl my hair by myself.

So once you step out of the shower, place a few drops of hair serum on your palms, rub them together and apply to damp hair. Hair serum helps create shinier hair and prevents tangles.

Now, you can go two ways:

For straight hair, use a heat protective straightening cream - this helps prevent damaging your hair with heat and helps it stay straight. This is good for those that have naturally curly or wavy hair and want to keep it pin-straight.

Use your hair iron next, I use Lionesse products, which are not only cute and aesthetically pleasing, but they work great too!  Check them out here.

Section your hair, and use the iron starting from the top and closer to the scalp and make your way down.

If you're going for some curls, then ignore part of the above and instead pick up a curling wand. Section your hair as you normally would and start from the bottom - use the wand and sort of wrap your hair around the wand, starting with the hair closer to your scalp and work outwards. You should end up with nice curls that stay for a bit, even with this humid weather!

Try it out and let me know how you do!

As always, thank you for reading!

XOXO
