Gray Poncho

Hi all!

If you live on the east coast of the United States, you know how mild this winter has been so far. Just this week, we had temperatures in the high 60s - that's in the 20s Celsius - in December! Unheard of! But this Miami girl isn't complaining... :)

But all good things must come to an end, and today the temperature dipped quite a bit. And so, a warm poncho and gloves were needed.

Today's outfit is perfect for an everyday look. The poncho was the first item I knew I wanted to wear. This beautiful gray poncho is from Forever 21 and you can shop via the link above. A poncho is what I like to call a socially acceptable blanket. It's comfortable, cozy and chic. Ponchos are figure-flattering, because they conceal the excess holiday pounds! Remember though: if you're wearing something loose up top, you have to wear something fitted on the bottom.

Below the gray poncho, I'm wearing a great cream sweater. It does fit loosely as well - something I wouldn't quite advise to wear under this poncho usually - but the slits on the sides of this particular sweater allow for the silhouette to appear fitted as well, so it works.

For the pants though, it was imperative to wear something tight. Here, I grabbed some tight, leather-like, black leggings to complete the look. The fitted nature of the leggings, plus the black hold the outfit together. For the last piece, I grabbed my go-to black booties. are you tired of seeing them yet??

Ponchos, like this gray one are great. I do encourage you keep one poncho in your closet for the winter months.
