Hi all!

Today's post is all about monochrome looks in general and the outfit you see above in particular. Let's take a look at the advantages and tips of a monochrome look:

First, a monochrome look draws the eyes up and down, as opposed to side to side. This makes you look taller and slimmer. Another plus of a monochrome look is that it can be worn year-round and is not season-specific.

Perhaps you're hesitant or afraid to try a monochrome head-to-toe. Where to start? Neutrals - all-black or all-white outfits safer options than loud, bright colors or pastels. Start there. In particular, the all-black or all-white look is chic, sexy and classy. Once you feel comfortable with monochrome looks, then experiment with pastels but pay attention to what colors work best for your complexion.

For this outfit, I set out to wear an edgy pair of distressed black jeans from Missguided, My goal was to create a feminine and classic look. For the feminine aspect of it, I chose the shoes (vintage Jimmy Choos that I wore at my wedding!) and Chanel bag. For the classic part, I added a basic black body suit from American Apparel (I literally own one in every neutral color). Then I grabbed the cape blazer which is a creative spin on the classic blazer.

What's your favorite color to do a head-to-toe look? Let me know in the comments below!

As always, thanks for reading!

XOXO,

Christie
