Casual & Comfortable Post Fashion Week

Hi all,

It’s post fashion week and that means it’s back to regularly scheduled programming. But be on the lookout this weekend, as a number of Psychology Behind Fashion: NYFW edition posts will be shared from some of my favorite runway shows, including TIBI, Brandon Maxwell, 3.1. Phillip Lim, Noon by Noor, Adeam, and Sally LaPointe.

Orange Top, Orange Coat

But let’s get back to today’s look. Having been a bit more dressed up for NYFW - and if you didn’t catch the coverage, be sure to see YouTube- I wanted to be a bit more casual and comfortable for the day after and I opted for a look that mixed some NYFW pieces, along with some everyday casual ones.

Starting with this cute new pair of denim that I actually wore during Fashion Week. I love the transparent cuff - it adds such a fun twist to your pair of basic jeans. For my petite readers, I am 5’1 and did have to shorten them a few inches but my tailor was able to easily shorten from them without ruining the design of the jean.

For the top, I grabbed a great basic from Something Navy. The color is like a burnt orange red and I love that it’s not your typical long sleeve shirt but has fun voluminous sleeves for a great final touch. I’m wearing a size XS and am quite petite so I think if you want more of a fitted feel and are petite, I’d probably suggest an XXS.

For the coat, I’m wearing an orange puffer from Cinq a Sept. I love how it complemented the top and kept me warm all at once. I adore that it’s fitted and cropped and with regards to the color, I personally find orange to be such a happy color, especially during a dreary day!

For shoes, I wore a pair of white pointed toe booties. I think I almost wore these every day this past week. I swear if you don’t own a pair of white pointed toe booties yet, I strongly suggest you get in on them because not only do they make you look taller if you’re short like me, but they go with everything. I’ve linked the ones I’m wearing, as well as a more affordable pair.

As for bag, how fun is this plaid one from Pop & Suki? The brand is a newer one and has already been spotted on countless bloggers and celebrities. Given the multiple colors showcased on the bag, means that it can easily be incorporated into many outfits where you’re wearing neutrals or solid colors.

As always, thank you all for reading!

Xo,

Christie
