MFW Look: Denim Dress Robe

Hi all,

Milan Fashion Week continues today, and hopefully by now you have seen the first few outfits I wore to shows and presentations. Today, with Fall here, we continue with a similar hue, color-wise, with this lovely dress but add something new to the equation: a denim dress robe. Let's take a look:

Denim Dress Robe Outfit

With Fall here, denim is now everywhere. Of course you have different washes of denim jeans to wear and likely one or a few denim jackets. But what about a fun, new way of incorporating denim that isn't the usual jeans or jacket? Enter this denim dress robe from Rachel Roy. It's super versatile and a great addition to your year-round wardrobe.

Since Milan is a bit more formal in nature and the temperatures in the evening do get a bit chilly, I styled it over a gorgeous dress from Three Floor. Below, I'm linking the actual dress and a shorter version in case you'd like to go for that as well. I chose to style the robe off-the-shoulder to make it a bit edgier and more interesting. Under the dress, I wore a pair of burgundy boots with lace cut outs from Pour La Victoire, which you'll likely see me wear more soon - I love them!

I opted to wear same-color dress & boots to give the impression of a taller figure, as monochrome usually does. It draws the eyes up and down and gives the appearance of a slimmer figure.

To finish the look off, I grabbed this mini-bag that you've seen me wear during NYFW. Not much fits, but it sure is cute!

How to Style Denim Dress Robe

One of the reasons I'm a big fan of the robe is its versatility and there are several ways to style it. For example, if you're heading out on a Friday/Saturday night, wear with denim or black leather trousers, a basic tee and pumps. Once it gets colder, swap out the pumps for over-the-knee boots. Style the denim robe open as a kimono and you're set.

If you're looking to go a bit sexier, you can swap out the tee and denim for a form-fitted bodysuit and mini skirt. Pair them with black thigh-high boots or booties and add tights for colder weather. Be ready to turn some heads as you walk!

But the denim dress robe is not only meant for night outs and dressier occassions. You can also style it for the day. Style with a cool pair of sneakers and a flowy dress, and let the robe open as a kimono again and you'll be set!

How would you style a denim dress robe? Let me know in the comments below!

As always, thank you reading!

xoxo,

Christie
