The Gingham Blazer

Hi all,

I hope you're doing great today! International Women's Day took place on March 8th and I had the pleasure to attend an event at the Terrace of the Gramercy Park Hotel put together by Farfetch to celebrate women. The event had several of us NYC bloggers along with Cleo Wade, a well-known poet that speaks to positivity and femininity. As a woman, it was important to celebrate us, celebrate who we are and what we do and I was honored to have been invited to be a part of the event.

Gingham Blazer Look

An event like this called for a specific look - I was going for a chic, yet bold look. So when selecting pieces, I immediately knew I wanted to wear a blazer. This, I felt was perfect for the occasion, but it needed to be feminine. I also knew I wanted to wear red because it's a color that is associated with boldness and power - A perfect way to empower us women!

So I recalled that I had seen this gorgeous gingham blazer from Veronica Beard and said "bingo"! Gingham is a very classic print and perfect for Spring and the Summer. It's the perfect investment piece to add to your closet. Gingham in and of itself is a loud print, so we needed to make sure the other pieces complemented it and not competed with it. So I chose a basic, black turtleneck and added a pair of wide-legged denim. Veronica Beard is available on their site and on Farfetch.

To finish off the look, I grabbed a white statement bag from Brahmin and a classic pair of black booties.

International Women's Day Event

The event itself took place in a beautiful location in the Gramercy neighborhood in Manhattan and gave me the opportunity to chat and socialize with some incredible women. It was a pleasure meeting and speaking with Cleo Wade too! I got to take home with me a beautiful pair of Valentino shoes too! The weather doesn't quite call for them yet, but look for them soon. :)

How will you be wearing gingham this Spring?

As always, thank you for reading!

xoxo
